I'm very happy, grateful and so appreciative of Joshua. He was determined to help me and my dog Bizkit to succeed. Bizkit had extreme anxiety. She is a behaved dog now. I have no regrets choosing Joshua as our professional trainer. Thank you so much! :)

We adopted our dog Scout a year ago after he spent over a year and a half in a rescue shelter. He was a sweet boy with very little training and high separation anxiety. Once we got him home, we found he was leash reactive and couldn't be left at home alone - significantly limiting our ability to leave the house. We worked with a couple of different trainers but realize we needed something more intensive and were recommended to Josh.

Josh worked us to understand dog psychology and communication and gave us the tools to work effectively with Scout. Once he was home we saw a noticeable change in how he responded to the outside world. We saw significant change in his confidence levels - he was easier to walk, we could take him to more public places, he was calmer and more focused, allowing him to spend more time alone comfortably.

We are grateful for Josh's training and guidance and helping to get us on the right track with Scout. We would definitely recommend him for anybody who needs extra support with their pup, especially a rescue dog that may come with some trauma.

We had excellent results with Josh! Our dog, Nala was initially scared of everything, mildly reactive to people, and quite obstinate. With Josh’s help, Nala has become a happy, confident dog who is very responsive to commands! We would hire him again!

I am so grateful to Joshua for being generous with his time and expertise working with myself, my 8-year-old daughter, and my 5-month-old puppy. We adopted our adorable Coconut when he was just 12 weeks old. I found that he was the friendliest dog ever to fellow humans and dogs; however, he wanted to nip constantly. He was always trying to pull the shirts and pants off friends and family. He even enjoyed biting me in the butt if I turned away from him. This was simply not acceptable behavior, and I was worried that as he became mature this would transform into something much more aggressive and violent. I was told when I adopted him that he was a Mountain Cur, which is a "breed" of dog from the southwest used for ranching and makes a great family dog. However, when I looked online, he didn't look like any Mountain Curs I found there. Curious, I did a DNA My Dog test, and found he was actually an American Pit Bull, Rottweiller, Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Dog mix. I felt this dog, being a mix of these breeds, would need a much firmer handler than myself and my little girl. I was actually considering re-homing this dog with someone who would be able to handle him better than I could. I was referred to Joshua because I really wanted to keep Coconut, and my daughter was completely against the idea of giving up on her puppy. We called Heel and Heal, and Joshua put us immediately at ease. He confidently let us know that he would be able to, in two sessions, give us all the skills we would need to ensure Coconut would turn into a great family dog, with the right tools. With Joshua's guidance, we indeed were able to incorporate his recommendations into our daily schedule and interact with Coconut in a way that kept everyone safe and quickly put an end to his nipping. He is even more loveable because he is such a well-behaved dog now! Thank you again Joshua, and we appreciate all the extra materials regarding how to teach and care for dogs on your site and blog!

We rescued Dwayne, our pit mix in November and due to being insecure/having low confidence in his handlers (my partner and I) he has shown aggression to other dogs such as growling, snarling and lunging if the interaction is prolonged past his comfort. We really realized we needed to seek professional help when Dwayne bit another dog (my brothers) in what seems to be territorial confrontation. Joshua has been nothing but amazing in rehabilitating and growing confidence in Dwayne. From fearing that we were unable to take him public to being able to take him to a Mariner's game greeting every dog in a friendly manner and even sharing a blanket with another dog two months after his board and train.

I have done consultations with board and trains for my previous dog who is much more aggressive and no one compares to how thought out and educated Joshua is about canine psychology. As someone who got their undergraduate in psychology I had my doubts and Joshua was able to answer my complex questions that make sense to me.

In addition, Joshua has even kept Dwayne an additional week to really solidify his training free of charge which demonstrates the level of care he has for Dwayne and confidence in his work.

Along with the initial four weeks of training and one additional free training Joshua offers lifetime support which goes to say he really does care and want you to succeed with your canine.

Though upfront the price is hefty for the average working class, Joshua has implemented payments plans to ease the financial burden (which many board and trains do not in my experience). With that being said, seeing how Dwayne is always complimented on his manners and how relaxed he is around other dogs and social situations, you truly can't name a price on that.

I can't recommend Joshua highly enough! He transformed our experience with our reactive Boston Terrier/pug. Before working with Joshua, our dog's excitement reactivity had turned into hyper-focus/aggression towards people and other dogs. Joshua provided us with the tools and structure we needed to create a calmer, more balanced dog. Also, my dog used to pull so much on our walks! But we stayed consistent with the training and advice. Walks are now enjoyable! If you're struggling with a reactive, hyperfocus, leash-pulling dog, Joshua is the trainer to see. 10/10 would recommend!

Joshua is absolutely a miracle worker. My rescue has been deemed one of the most scared dogs a few different trainers have ever seen, and Joshua was able to reach her and help us help her with her extreme fear and anxiety. With his stern but caring approach, he’s helped me and my partner over the last two years to help my dog be able to exist in the world with so much less fear. Any time a new behavior arises that I’m not sure how to handle, Joshua is always available to guide me and my dog through. Joshua genuinely cares about every dog and human he works with, and provides excellent guidance and encouragement throughout the training sessions. Idk where we’d be without Joshua and Heel & Heal.

We had the most incredible results with our rambunctious German Shepard! Josh took extra care to make sure our dog was getting the best training possible and that the training was tailored to our specific needs. We could not be happier! Well worth the time and money!

I highly recommend Joshua and Aishah. Very nice people. They did a great job training my Rottweiler. After 5 weeks of training Joshua brought our dog home and spent 2 hours with us making sure that we understood the training and exactly what we needed to do at home to ensure that he doesn’t back slide into old behavior. I expressed concern over walking our big boy so we took him out together for a walk and he gave us some hands on help to get us up to speed. No more of him walking me. First night back home and he is doing great.
